Activity 6 - A total of 17 specialized courses for representatives of professional categories directly involved in judicial and educational activities having an impact on the issue of discrimination (magistrates, teachers, school inspectors, prison officers, police, gendarmes).

Expected result: A number of 531 representatives of professional categories relevant for discrimination issues (magistrates, school inspectors, teachers, policemen) specialized in legislation, procedures and specific methods to prevent and combat discrimination


An important component of the project envisages the organization of training and / or specialization courses for professional categories relevant for the discrimination issues. The judiciary and education fields are envisaged particularly, considering the role and importance of professionals in these fields in shaping perceptions and attitudes in society, for the observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, but also in preventing the shaping and development of stereotypes and prejudices, or when applicable, of sanctioning discrimination phenomena. Thus, the main target groups will consist of magistrates, police officers, teachers and school inspectors.

The training and/or specialization courses will envisage to provide general information regarding national and European legislation in the field, NCCD’s activity to prevent the discrimination phenomenon, specific procedures to manage discrimination cases, NCCD’s and ECHR’s case-law in the anti-discimination field.

Seventeen such courses will be organized with the purpose of involving the participation of a number of 531 representatives of the mentioned categories.

The selection of participants at the specialization courses will be carried out in cooperation with institutions and Ministries responsible for each professional category. In respect, there will be concluded protocols of collaboration with the National Institute of Magistracy, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Education so as to ensure the selection and participation of future trainees under appropiate standards.
