National Council for Combating Discrimination is carrying out, in the period 2014-2016, the predefined project “Strengthening anti-discriminatory measures at national level through large participation of professionals and civil society”.
The project is financed under the programme “Children and Youth at Risk and Local and Regional Initiatives to Reduce National Inequalities and to Promote Social Inclusion” within the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, having as main partner the Council of Europe, through the Directorate of Democratic Citizenship and Participation.
In December 2015 it has been organized the last event from a series of six workshops planned at the project level, event organised in the context of one of the main objectives of the project - drafting the national anti-discrimination strategy for the period 2016-2020.
Thus, on December 3rd 2015, at the Capitol Hotel in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei no. 29), it took place a meeting with representatives of civil society and public institutions interested in the event, during which it was discussed the draft of the strategic document called "National strategy for combating discrimination for the period 2015-2020", elaborated by the working group of CNCD, on the recommendations of the Council of Europe.
During the event, one of the experts of the Council of Europe, Ms. Alia Chahin, provided feedback on the document released for debate, based on report named "External evaluation of the national strategy for the implementation of measures on preventing and combating discrimination 2007-2013".
Also, during the open sessions of the event, representatives of the civil society and public institutions submitted proposals, suggestions and opinions on the document entitled "Draft of national strategy for combating discrimination for the period 2016-2020".
